Mosman Community Gardeners is a community group committed to working together to create food gardens around Mosman to demonstrate promote, educate and advocate environmental sustainability through growing food locally.

This art workshop offers an insight into the different ways of approaching a botanical painting, starting with black and white studies in pencil and moving onto watercolour to capture the beauty of plants. Mackie Lane Community Garden is bursting with flower, vegetables and ornamentals giving the artist a rich variety of patterns to work with.


Please bring:
A4 or larger sketchbook,
2B or 2H lead pencil

Other materials:
If you have the following materials please bring them, otherwise they will be supplied by Penny for you to use on the day for $20
small watercolour brush
watercolour paints
Arches hot pressed watercolour paper A4 or larger

About the presenter

Botanical Art Class

Penny Walton is an experienced illustrator who has worked for publishers in both Sydney and London. She takes most of her inspiration from the bush environment around her home in the Hunter Valley.
