This course suits accounts employees, small business owners or simply people who are looking to improve their bookkeeping & GST knowledge.
The course is purely manual and practical to help students understand the fundamentals and various applications such as completing a cashbook, bank reconciliations, journal entries, general ledger, GST and management reporting.
A case study featuring a small business will be undertaken in the class with the teacher’s guidance to allow students the chance to practice what they learned and provide them a hands-on experience in finalising a set of books and reports.
By the end of the course, students will have acquired the following:

Overcome the bookkeeping jargon
Differentiate between the different types of assets, liabilities & equity
Cash book & bank reconciliations
Report their fixed assets & calculate depreciation
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Pass journals & post reports
Generating financial reports

About the presenter

Mark is a qualified Accountant and a fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).

Mark holds the position of the Financial Controller as well as running his own practice in bookkeeping and BAS lodgements.

Mark is a Registered BAS Agent with the Tax Practitioners board and holds a number of qualifications in Accounting, Income Tax and Business Administration.

Mark's wealth of experience in both public and commercial accounting especially in a SME environment made him play a pivotal role in the decision making process of the business with key financial duties such as Cashflow Management, Staff Supervision, Tax compliance, Formulating strategies, Payables/Receivables, POS Reconciliations, General Ledger, Stock Control, and a myriad of other comprehensive and varied financial tasks.

Teaching is an essential part of Mark's life. He takes pride in his 14 years of rewarding experience as a tutor in bookkeeping, business and BAS and is looking forward to the years ahead in this academic path.
