This interior design course is for anyone who has a basic theoretical knowledge of colour and design and wishes to develop their skills and knowledge and apply it to their home. It is helpful if you have already completed “Interior Design- The Basics” 8 week course. Although preferred, this is not an essential requirement, as we will continually refer and refresh our understanding of the Principles & Basics of Colour Theory etc.
We will study the application of colour schemes and colour contrasts through simple paint exercises. We will develop colour palettes, apply colour principles and learn more about tonal values, additive and subtractive colours. Working with the colour wheel and through simple paint exercises, you will improve your application of colour schemes and an understanding of how colours are formed and how light affects colour.
We will then adapt your colour knowledge and couple it with the Elements and Principles of Design including such factors as form, texture, size and balance. Then, in turn, we will then adapt to your interior space.
This course is very practical and hands on, and will help build your confidence in the use of colour and design choices for your home environment.
Bring a notebook, pencil and scissors and gluestick.
Other materails will be supplied
