About the presenter

Lanning Bennett retired three years ago after a twenty year career in banking and a further twenty years starting and growing and then selling a B2B software firm. He is the founder of the 'Men in Retirement - Making it Great' initiative (see Facebook and social media pages for more details), and a Retirement Coach.

He believes that having a great retirement requires work, often lots of work and presents challenges, often lots of challenges. That for many men, coming from demanding but validating jobs, the transition to retirement can be particularly tough.

Reaching out, taking risks, finding new things to do, building a great new life can be scary. Retirement is a challenge. It is the second biggest period for divorces, it can place great strains on personal relationships and marriages. It can be lonely and yes, sometimes even depressing.

But of course it can also be the most fantastic time of a person's life.

It just requires ongoing work and focus and maybe a few new skills and approaches.
