Mosman Community College Celebrating 60 years!

Mosman Festival Street Parade and Tastes of Mosman Food Fair

On Sunday 17 September Mosman Day & Evening Community College staff, tutors and students marched behind our banner in the street parade to kick off the 2006 Mosman Festival.

We assembled in Prince Alfred Street under the absolutely perfect spring sunshine and marched past the Buena Vista and along Military Road to the Council Chambers, waving pom-poms, cheering and having a great time.

Special thanks go to our tutors Andre Blom (Yoga) and David Martin (Small Business) for carrying the college banner with the big purple star balloons attached. Laura Bertucelli and Antonio Bini organised a large contingent of Italian language students who were resplendent in green, white and red... the colours of Il Tricolore... the Italian flag. Also joining the procession were Mary MacDonagh & Terry Tredrea (ESL), Caroline Fox (Writing Your Life Story), Ros Tinker (Yoga), Ulrike Rehr-Dodds (who brought along delicious home-made German pretzels) and 40 or so students. Thanks to everyone who participated...hang on to those pom-poms...we are looking forward to doing it all again next year!

Among the many activities organised by Mosman Council was the Food fair held in the grounds of Mosman High School. Many thanks to Andre Blom, Sallie Portnoy (Glass Blowing/Glass casting), Suzanne Lewarne (Clutter/Sacred Space), Mary MacDonagh and Terry Tredrea for giving their time to hand out brochures and answer questions at our stall. On display were watercolours and pastels by Susan Bernasconi, calligraphy by Christina Beaumont and glassware by Sallie Portnoy.
